NWU & WINERA SIGN AGREEMENT WITH RECLASSIFICATION TO FOLLOW
The Management of Windward Islands Packaging Company Limited (WINERA) and the Leadership and Shop Stewards of the National Workers Union (NWU) met to affix their signatures to a new industrial accord.
The contract which runs over a three (3) year period makes provisions for a five percent (5%) general wage increase, back pay and a revision of the fringe benefits.
The Company and the Union also agreed to meet within a reasonable period of time to commence a reclassification exercise that would include new job titles and responsibilities. These would be in keeping with the company’s new thrust aimed at upgrading the existing technology. The end result should be the maximization of production.
