Thirty-two (32) year old Johann M Harewood, Secretary General of the National Workers Union (NWU), has been elected as one of the Vice Presidents of Union Network International Global Union (UNI)

Youth Executive. That decision was taken at the recently concluded Virtual Conference of Youth Delegates of UNI. Comrade Harewood’s functions will revolve around serving the interests of the youth in the Americas and the Caribbean.

UNI as a Global Union represents more than twenty (20) million workers from over one hundred and fifty (150) countries in the skills and services sectors in the world. It is working with its affiliates to organize the global service sector workforce at a time of unprecedented precarious work and record youth unemployment.

The National Workers Union (NWU) is an affiliate of UNI Global Union, which is based in Nyon, Switzerland.
