NWU & CARIBBEAN GRAINS TO MEET AT CONCILIATORY SESSION

Mr. Joseph Joseph, a Labour Official in the Department of Labour has summoned the Management of Caribbean Grains Ltd and the National Workers Union (NWU)

to a conciliatory session scheduled for Friday March 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting which will be held at the Department’s Vieux Fort office will be chaired by the Labour Officer. The conciliatory session will give both sides a forum to make their presentations with the hope of settling their industrial impasse.

Secretary General of the National Workers Union, Mr. Johann Harewood has disclosed that while the company is welcomed by all, wages paid out to the workers are low, working conditions must improve and industrial democracy within the plant must be maintained.

The workers are looking forward towards a speedy settlement of the impasse.
