Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, Mr. Benson Emile has agreed to have an urgent meeting with the National Workers Union (NWU) on Friday November 5, 2021 at 10:00 am.

It is expected that the Leadership of the National Workers Union along with Shop Stewards representing units of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs namely: Community Health Aides, OKEU, Saint Lucia National Mental Wellness Centre, Dental Assistants, Wellness Centre Attendants, Clerical Staff, Environmental Health and Bordelais will be present at the meeting.

The NWU will be making detailed presentations on problems and intolerable working conditions that workers face on a daily basis. The objective is to establish a Memorandum of Understanding as it relates to dealing with these issues going forward.

The NWU is thankful to the Team at the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs for their agreement to meet the union in an effort to address these industrial concerns.
