INDUSTRIAL CONTRACT FOR MEDIA WORKERS
Journalists, reporters and other ancilliary workers employed with the Voice Publishing Company will now benefit from new arrangements made between the media company and the National Workers Union (NWU).
From the three-year industrial contract, workers will benefit from a three percent (3%) valued Lump Sum payment in Year One. This will be followed by a three percent (3%) general wage increase in Year Two and a four percent (4%) general wage increase in Year Three. The Meal Allowance has been increased to $25.00.
After years of advocating for improvements in medical conditions, the workers will now will receive $250.00 for medical and optical allowances.
It is expected that the company will facilitate a joint general meeting with employees to explain the provisions of the new industrial accord and preparations for the signing of the industrial contract.
